Wayne Harrison
Director

From 1999 to 2001 Wayne was Creative Director of Back Row Productions and Clear Channel Entertainment, Theatrical Division. From 1990 to 1999 he was director/executive Producer of Sydney Theatre Company where in 1995, he produced the original Tap Dogs in a especially created nightclub overlooking Sydney Harbour. He then enabled the show to tour nationally and internationally through a close collaboration with Back Row.

While at STC Wayne directed The Normal Heart, Burn This, A little Light Music, Six Degrees of Separation, Into The Woods, Much Ado About Nothing, The Raise and fall of Little Voice, The gift of the Gorgon, Falsettos, Two Weeks with the Queen, Dead White Males, Heretic, Merrily We Roll Along, Three Tall Women, Medea, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolf? and Amy’s view. He also directed the London premier of Michaels Gow’s On Top of the World, and the award-winning South African Production of Two Weeks with the Queen, with a combined Australian/South African cast.

While at CCE he was responsible for the creative development of Gumboots and was part of the producing team that opened Fosse in Hamburg. He also directed the hugely successful Montreal production of Mom’s the Word at the 2001 Just for Laughs Festival.

Most recently he co-wrote and directed the musical, Lush and directed a new version of John Breen’s rugby play, Alone it Stands, both of which played at Sydney Opera House. He has directed the three UK touring versions of Mum’s the Word and in 2002 co-produced Too Far to Walk starring Prunella Scales, at the Kings Head Theatre.
